Diana Hanken

Diana Hanken, 92, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 2, 2022 at Glenwood Place in Marshalltown.

Diana Lois Davis was born to parents Floyd and Anna (Schoentag) Davis on June 2, 1930 in Oelwein, Iowa. She was one of five children in her family. Diana grew up in Oelwein and would later graduate high school in the class of 1948.

In May of 1953, Diana was united in marriage to the love of her life Donald L. Hanken. They made a home for themselves in Marshalltown where they would raise their five children together. Diana loved to take care of her home and her most important job was her family. She spent time working on various sewing projects, tending to her many flower gardens, working on quilting projects, spending time at home, cooking for her family and making plenty of cookies.

Those left to remember and cherish her memory are her children Steve (Barb) Reinke, Doug (Kim) Hanken, Cindy (Jon) Bru and Matt (Nancy) Hanken; her grandchildren Angie (Mark) Reinke Still, Jason Reinke, Aaron (Tessa) Reinke, Ethan Reinke, Jacob Hanken, James (Amy) Hanken, Clair (John) Gervich, Josh (Gail) Ridout, Zach (Genessa) Ridout, Megan (Jared)Modlin, Mindy Bru, Joshua Hanken, and McKenzie (Zach) Hohloch; great-grandchildren, Regan and Ryan Still, Josiah, Faith, and Nathan Reinke, Rachel (Zach) Reinke Blazek, Ava Hanken, Everlee and Ezera Hanken, Ellis and Adlai Gervich, Dominik Ridout, Elaina, Hank, and Tatum Ridout, Miriah and Brooklyn Wood, Jackson and Ronin Modlin, and Christopher Bru; her great-great- grandchildren, Lucas and Kaizen Blazek and Juniper and Camden Reinke; her brother and sister -in-law, Dave and Carol Ducomunn.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Hanken; her son, Michael Hanken; her parents; and her four brothers.
