Diana Lynne Spick

Diana Spick, 67, passed away on May 21, 2019, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa with her loving family by her side. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Central Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. A public visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, at the Central Christian Church from 5:00-7:00 p.m. For condolences please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date once a fund has been established. Diana was born on November 23, 1951 to parents, Frank and Lois (Whittle) Swope, in Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from college with a degree in nursing. She put that degree to good use by taking care of her patients and making them feel good even though it could be quite taxing on her. She was a caring person and would go out of her way to make sure anyone in need was well taken care of. She always had a positive attitude and when she walked into a room people knew she was the life of the party. Music played a large role in her life; singing in the church choir and also at many weddings and funerals for her dear friends. She encouraged many people to sing and to always have a song in your heart. She loved getting together with her high school reunion group and spending time reminiscing. Diana touched so many lives and will be missed by countless family and friends. Left to cherish Diana’s memory is her husband, Jerry; son Shay (Jennifer) Hasselmann; grandchildren: Ryder, Hunter, Doña, Dulce, Day, and Dejalina; her siblings, Sharon Swope, James Swope, and Michael Swope; her mother Lois; and the Whittle family in MO. She is preceded in death by her daughter Deja and father Frank. Diana’s family would like to thank the Iowa River Hospice Home for their fantastic care, for showing so much love and care in a difficult time.
