Diane Lee Duff

Diane L. Duff, 74, of Rhodes, Iowa, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Services for Diane will take place Friday, March 8 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rhodes United Methodist Church. In lieu of a visitation, Diane’s family will receive guests at Lincoln Valley Golf Course after the service. Mitchell Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Diane and her family. Born Diana Lee Walker on May 18, 1949, in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was the daughter of Vernon and Virginia (Flanagan) Walker. She graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1967. Diane was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Duff on December 2, 1977. She worked in quality control at Diamond Vogel Paint until her retirement in 2014. Diane enjoyed gardening and canning, and she was a wonderful cook. She also loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping. Diane loved her family and grandkids more than anything else.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 46 years, Bob; her children: Chad (Heather) Hopper of Mingo, IA and Jodi Wignall of Urbandale, IA; stepchildren: Mike Yon, Daniel Yon, Wendi Howes and Jerrell Ackerman; grandchildren: Trevor Wignall, Megan Hopper, Morgan Hopper and Riley (Taylor) Michael; two great-grandchildren: Avianna King and Lyla Michael; sister Kathy (Bruce) Buck of Rhodes, IA, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Ella Mae.

In death, Diane rejoins her best friend and sister, Sharon and Dick Ray, along with her parents Vernon and Virginia Walker and her brothers, Laverne and Mark.
