Diane Renee Roseland

January 19, 1957 — April 20, 2024

Diane Roseland, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away and went to be with the Lord on the morning of April 20th, 2024 after a 4 year battle with melanoma. In the weeks preceding her death she was able to enjoy time with her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Diane Renee Crosser was born to Donald and Eunice (Peters) Crosser on January 19, 1957 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from LDF High School in 1975 and went on to study at Iowa State University, where she earned a Bachelor's in Education in 1979 and a Master's in Special Education in 1981. Her career in Special Education touched the lives of many students, families and coworkers across the country, in locations such as Minneapolis, Nebraska, Detroit, Las Vegas and both Southern and Northern California.

Diane married Dan Roseland on November 17, 1979. Together they have 3 children: Rachel (Peter) Habib of Los Angeles, CA, Brett (Kasey) Roseland of Phoenix, AZ, and Laura Roseland of Oakland, CA. Diane faithfully followed along with Dan's General Motors job transfers and car dealership endeavors, which ultimately led them to retire in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma, California. Their 44 years of marriage are a testament to faith, hope, love and honored vows.

Diane lived an adventurous life. She was blessed to have traveled to Europe, Hawaii, Australia, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. She went to almost every state in the US and bravely took her kids on annual summer road trips to Iowa to visit family, enjoying many national parks along the way. She loved driving her 2 Corvettes, and flew for 25 years with Dan in their Cessna airplane. When Diane became a grandmother in 2015 her travels shifted to visiting and spoiling her grandchildren as much as possible. Although her retirement years were brief, she lived them well and created precious memories.

Diane is survived by her husband Dan, their 3 children (and spouses), 6 grandchildren, and 4 brothers in Iowa: Larry Crosser of Marshalltown, Terry (Trish) Crosser of Marshalltown, Gary (Lee) Crosser of Cedar Rapids, and Scott (Pam) Crosser of Independence. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, sister-in-law and niece.

Diane touched the lives of all she knew and will be missed tremendously. She is loved dearly and will be remembered for her honesty, integrity, kindness and loving character - a modern example of Proverbs 31.
