Dianna Leah Thies

Dianna Thies, age 67, of Boone, formerly of Iowa Falls, passed away Monday, September 16th, at the Iowa Methodist Unity Point in Des Moines.

A family led celebration of her life will be held Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Iowa Falls, Iowa at the American Legion located at 709 S. Oak Street. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.

Born on March 14th, 1957, she was the daughter of Delbert and Clara (Risius) Mitterer. She attended school in Alden, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Dennis Thies. He preceded her in death on September 24th, 2006.

Mrs. Thies was employed for many years in housekeeping at local hotel/motels and McDonalds in Webster City. She enjoyed playing bingo, trips to Meskwaki, watching game shows, traveling and time spent with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her longtime friend and companion Jim Smith of Boone, Iowa; her three children: Kristina (Alan) Howell of Ames; Shannen (Eric) Osborne of Gambrills, Maryland and Kelley Thies of Beaman; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; her sister Pam (Dick) Crawford of Iowa Falls and sister-in-law Bonnie Mitterer of Iowa Falls, Rosann Hinz of Steamboat Rock and Tania (Ed) Foley of Granville, Illinois and other family and friends.

In death, Dianna rejoined her parents, her husband, brother Richard, brother-in-law, Randy, and three grandchildren.
