On Monday, November 9, 2020 heaven gained another angel. Dixie Lee Kroener, a lifelong resident of Marshalltown, joined our Lord in heaven in her passing at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 13 at 10:00 A.M. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Le Grand. A visitation will take place Thursday, November 12 at 5:00-7:00 P.M., with a time of sharing at 7:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Dixie was born June 25, 1941 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ole and Lula Johnson. She was joined in marriage to LaVern Andrew Kroener for 25 years and had eight daughters. Dixie was employed at Fisher Control for 18 years. In her free time, she enjoyed music, fishing, camping, cooking, canning and spending time with family. Dixie was a dedicated mother and an extremely hard worker. She was very outgoing and was loved by many. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sharon Schaumburg, Joany Swanson, Marsha Underberg, Cindy Kroener and Teresa Kroener; her 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Deloris Taylor and Shirley Randall and many more family and friends. In eternal life, Dixie is reunited with her daughters: Linda, Phyllis and Michelle Kroener; her parents; siblings: Delbert, Virgil, Martin and Aliene; grandchild Taylor Lee King and great-grandchild Boone Lee.
