Dolona Kae Thomae

Dolona K. Thomae, 40, Aunt Lala by her nieces and nephews, of West Des Moines, died early Saturday morning, October 13th, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown with a time of fellowship and refreshments to follow by the Rhodes United Methodist Church. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown is caring for Dolona and her family. Ph 641-844-1234. Born Dolona Kae Thomae on March 7th, 1967, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of William M. Bill and Greta Evens Thomae. She graduated from the West Marshall High Schools Class of 1985 and then attended West Mar College in Lemars, Iowa. She was employed for 16 years by the State of Iowa in Disability Determination Services and was a member of the Rhodes United Methodist Church. Ms. Thomae will be fondly remembered for her love of family, assisting on the Home Owners Association Board, collecting coins, always doing something special for others and enriching their lives, her interest in crafts and following her nieces and nephews activities. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Greta of Marshalltown, formerly of Rhodes, sister Delaine Aves of Melbourne, brothers Dewaine (Sandy) Thomae of Marshalltown and Bob (Joy) Thomae of Rhodes, nieces and nephews: Steven Aves in Colorado, Neil William Hayes Wonka Aves of Melbourne, Hillary and Hannah Thomae of Marshalltown and Jessica Daniels of Marshalltown, as well as a host of friends in Des Moines and other communities. In death she has rejoined her father, William Bill and her grandparents.
