He lost his mother when he was one year old, and was raised by his step-mother, Hazel Jaeger. Don graduated from high school in Beloit, and served our country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps (later Air Force) during WWII from 1942 to 1946. Don had an adventurous childhood in Wisconsin and never tired of telling stories from those days. All said, no one tired of hearing those stories either. After his discharge from the service, he later moved to Marshalltown, Iowa. On Christmas Eve of 1949, Don was united in marriage to Katheryn Wooster. She preceded him in death on July 8, 1978. Donald was a district manager for many years at an Ecolab in Marshalltown, a Minnesota-based company. Donald married to Ramona Andrews on May 25, 1985, and she too, preceded him in death. Don enjoyed boating, airshows, airplanes, hot-air balloons, and antique cars. He was an avid fan of Iowa State and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed watching anything on his big screen TV, but Blue Bloods and boxing topped his list of favorites. Don also was an avid fan of his grand-children and great-grand childrens activities and was always in the audience to watch sports, music, and dance. Mr. Jaeger was a member of the Moose Lodge and past president of the Iowa Association of Milk, Food and Environmental Sanitarians. Donald was blessed with two children: Debra Rae Netolicky (Joe Kinney), and Bill Jaeger, both of Marshalltown; his special friend Jeanne Egger, of Marshalltown; step-daughter-in-law, Jane Andrews of Marshalltown; five dear grandchildren: Terri (Chris) Taylor of Marshalltown; Shawn (Dan) Graves of Des Moines; Kristopher (Stacy) Netolicky of Marshalltown; Tanya (David) Cobb of Marshalltown and Jessica (Brandon) Ricken of Haverhill, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Peggy) Jaeger of Wisconsin Dells; his faithful companion, Roscoe; and many other family members. In death, Don rejoined his beloved wives, Katheryn (Wooster) Jaeger and Ramona (Andrews) Jaeger; his step-sons: Gary Andrews and Steve Andrews; step-granddaughter, Kelli Andrews; brother, Robert Jaeger; sister, Nancy (Larry) McKittrick; his parents; step-mother, Hazel Jaeger who raised him; a pet chicken, Penny, who used to ride around with Don on his bicycle; and two faithful companions, Peppy and Riley.
