Dona Mae Burr, 78, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Grandview Heights, with her loving family by her side. A memorial service under the family direction will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Restore Church located at 2 N 2nd Ave, Marshalltown, IA, with Pastor Ryan Trossen officiating. There will be no visitation prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Donas name to her family. Dona Mae Wheeler was born on May 20, 1939 in Brooklyn, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Lola (Hiner) Wheeler. She was raised and educated in the Brooklyn School District, graduating with the class of 1958. Dona was united in marriage to the love of her life, Carl Burr. From this union they were blessed with one son, Robert Burr. Dona was a very loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and being outdoors. Donas most treasured passion was her family. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Bob (Mary) Burr; one granddaughter, Jayleen Burr; two sisters, Sandy and Marilyn and one brother, Larry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, Lester and Lola; as well as one brother Rick.
