Donald (Don) Clingerman, age 92, former Marshalltown area resident, passed away Saturday July 13th, 2024 in Sun City Arizona where he has resided for a number of years.
Born on November 2, 1932, in Marshalltown Iowa, he was the son of Herdon and Francis Clingerman. He received his education and graduated in Marshalltown Ia. He later enlisted in the Navy on 1952 to 1956. While in the Navy he began dating a beautiful nursing student, Joyce Evanson. After dating only two weeks, the two became one. On September 4th, 1955 the two were united in Las Vegas. Their marriage of nearly 65 years was blessed with three daughters, Laurie, Patti and Brenda.
The couple made their home in Marshalltown Iowa, and then in later years they retired in Sun City Az. Don joined Silver Craft and learned the skill of making jewelry, such as rings, earrings, fauceting glass and making pendants and as of recently, garden sticks. But most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed playing all kinds of board games, doing jig saw puzzles, going for rides in the car, out to eat, going to Hobby Lobby, spending holidays with family, talking on the phone with his relatives and friends, seeing and visiting with his grandkids, and great grandkids, and watching the Arizona Diamondback, the Suns and of course Caitlin Clark basketball games.
Don will be greatly missed by his three daughters, Laurel Hausafus, Patricia Headrick and husband Larry Headrick, Brenda Reeves and husband Stacy Reeves, his grandchildren Nicholas Harvey, Austin and Justin Daneshamand, Aaron Headrick and Brandon Sanchez; great- grand children Gianna, Alexis, Tristen, Christopher and Sylvia.
