Donald 'Don' Hornberg

Donald Don Hornberg, 84, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, in the comfort of his own home. Following Dons wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no public services held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed in Dons name to this family. Donald Hornberg was born on November 16, 1932, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Henry Sr. and Grace Viola (Mills) Hornberg. He was raised and educated in the Marshall county school district, graduating from Green Mountain High School with the class of 1950. Following high school, Don honorably served his country by joining the United States Navy. After he was discharged from the military, Don lived and worked in Burleson, TX, to be near his sister, Pearl. Years later he returned to Marshalltown to be close to his family. Don dedicated his working career at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center for many years until his retirement. Left to cherish his memory is a sister-in-law as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Henry Sr. and Grace Hornberg; one sister: Pearl Mackey; two brothers: Henry Jr. and Ben Hornberg Sr.
