Donald Loomis

Donald L. Loomis, 71, previously of Roscoe, Illinois, passed away on February 28, 2017 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded and there are currently no services scheduled. Don Loomis was born on June 2, 1945 in Lena, Illinois to Dale and Vivian Koppean Loomis. On July 11, 2008, he was united in marriage to Eileen Ertz in West Burlington, Iowa. Don had been employed with the Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, Illinois as a Skilled Trade Worker. Don loved to always stay busy. He was a very social and people person and knew no stranger. Don enjoyed fishing and traveling to Mexico, the Caribbean and Alaska. Don is survived by his wife of 8 years, Eileen. Children: Jason Loomis of Rockford, Illinois, Kimberly Federico of Belvidere, Illinois, Deb (Jeff) Scott of West Burlington, Iowa, Chris (Jared) Hicks of Marion, Iowa and Michele (Addison) Jensen of Grinnell, Iowa. Grandchildren: Nicolas, Jessica, Drew, Kyle, Ally, Chase, Devin, Tab and Courtney. He is also survived by his siblings: Pauline (Marshall) Schubert of Illinois and Randy (Barb) Loomis of Illinois. Don is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Mackey, his parents Dale and Vivian and brother Dale Loomis.
