Donald Ralf, 63, of Marshalltown, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 28th, at the MMSC ER. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Maddick of the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday. A memorial fund is being established. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. 641-844-1234. Born Donald Benjamin Ralf on March 29th, 1945, in Marshalltown, he was the only child born to Harold and Myrtle (Harrington) Ralf. He graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1963 and attended the Marshalltown Community College. Don was married to Patti for 22 years and later, after a motorcycle trip to Phoenix, AZ, was united in marriage to Marilyn Hanson. They were married on October 21, 1991. Don was a fireman fro the City of Marshalltown and owned and operated Greentone Lawn Care during this same time. He enjoyed motorcycles, horses, camping, meeting people and tractors- especially John Deere. He was a member of the Marshall Masonic Lodge, HOG (Harley Owners Group) and GWRA (Goldwing Riders Association). Left to cherish his memory are Marilyn, his loving wife of 16 years, son Ryan (fianc Thai Nguyen) of State Center, step-sons Doug and Randy Henze of State Center, grandchildren Jeffry, Daniel, Ella and Adam, his uncle Marion (Laura) Ralf of Marshalltown, three cousins: Phyllis Fistler, Margaret Andrews and Joann Decker all of Marshalltown and his dog, Andy. In death he has rejoined his parents, aunt Helen Issacson and her companion, Bill Ankrum.
