Donald 'Don' R. Risius

Donald Don Risius, 81, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 07, 2015, in the comfort of his own home, with his loving family by his side. Memorial services for Don will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral home with Rev. Kim Wilson and Rev. Gary Dean officiating. Risius was born on January 25, 1934, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Joe and Johanna (Ripentrop) Risius. He was raised and educated in the Crystal Lake school district, graduating from Crystal Lake High School. On November 25, 1966, Don was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly Frye, in Omaha, Nebraska. Beverly passed away in 2013. Don was a hardworking man, he was a farmer, carpenter and in 1966 he opened up his own company. He was a member of the Lions Club and First United Church of Christ. Don had a passion for his family, camping, shuffle board, making crafts for family and playing cards. Don is survived by his children: Deb Moore Cripps, David Moore, Diane Moore, Darla (Richard) Ingledue, Dixie (Dave) Moore Clark, Dottie (Marcus) Moore McCoy, Diana Ausborn, Don (Debra) Risius, and Bonnie (Kenneth) Ausborn; multiple grandkids; multiple great-grandkids; one brother: Lloyd (Bernadette) Risius and several nieces, nephews and step-children. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; parents: Joe and Johanna; one daughter: Cynthia Lynch; daughter-in-law: Tammy Moore and his dog, Precious.
