Donald Scooby Scovill, 82, of Marshalltown Iowa, passed away on April 27th, 2015, at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. There are no services planned at this time. Donald Elmer Scovill was born on July 25th, 1932, to Donald and Velma (Stark) Scovill in Marshalltown, Iowa. He attended school in the Marshalltown School District. As a young man, Donald worked at Curleys Bakery on 13th Street making donuts, as well as Greenwood Grocery. In 1950, Donald married Barbara Ramona Robinett in Marshalltown, Iowa; together, they made their home and raised their children in Marshalltown. Donald worked for Haleys Deli as a butcher and running grocery deliveries, in Marshalltown for 42 years. Eventually, he and Jan Whitmore were married, divorcing a few years later. Donald loved watching the races on t.v., as well as at the Marshalltown Speedway, and he enjoyed fishing, roller-skating and was a country music fan. Left to cherish his memory are his children; Rita Barnes of Marshalltown, Rex (Pam) Scovill of Marshalltown, Iowa, sister; Mary Helen (Jerry) Stanton of Kansas, brother; Robert Scovill of Marshalltown, grandchildren; Justine (Todd) Halverson, Mike Barnes, Ryan (Bre Edwards) Scovill, Travis (Elizabeth) Scovill, Travis (Sally) Corwin, Danielle (Jim) Zemlicka, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; Donald and Velma, his brother; Jim (Alice) Scovill , his sister; Margaret Perkins.
