Donald Walbridge, “Donny from Tom’s” passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 1-3:00 p.m. with a celebration of his life held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Tom’s Cue and Brew at 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed to the family to be used at a later date and for condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. Donny was born on December 23, 1944 to Francis and Margaret (Stallings) Walbridge in North Folk, VA. He was also a long time resident of Iowa. While growing up he enjoyed spending time with his siblings and would always spoil his youngest sister Susan. Donny was a family man and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren every chance that he could. Donny loved to play baseball and even played in the Minor Leagues. His love carried over and could be seen in his collection of baseball cards. More recently he had become an avid pool player and loved to practice as much as he could. Donny never met a stranger and will be missed by his family and countless friends that he has made through the years. Left to cherish his memory are his girlfriend for over 15 years Kamala Diederichs;step daughter Kayla Diederichs, children, Joanne Walbridge-Bryant, Raymond Styer, Robin Styer and Danny Walbridge; grandchildren: Megan, Andrew, Kelly, Eric, Aron, Michael, Alexa, Madison, Kassandra, Jackie, Primrose, and Jasmine; and 8 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Susan Walbridge and Richard Walbridge. Donny is preceded in death by his son Michael, brother Chuck, and parents Francis and Margaret.
