Donald “Don” Wills, 90, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Iowa River Hospice Home with his family at his side. At this time, cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned. A family led celebration of life will take place at a later date. Donald Victor Wills was born September 21, 1930 to parents Charles Frederick and Mary Luella (Melberg) Wills in Lamoille, Iowa. He was the fourth born. Don attended school in the Lamoille School District and graduated high school in the class of 1948. On November 15, 1952, Don was united in marriage to his beautiful bride Dona Abney at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. The two began a family and raised their sons Dane and David together. Don was a successful business man. He owned and operated Don Wills Standard service in Marshalltown. From there he owned his own real estate brokerage, Don Wills Realty from where he retired. He was a longtime member of the Lamoille Congregational Church. He loved to do woodworking projects, work on his home, spending time with his family and listening to music. He loved to watch and cheer on his sport teams with Dona. His teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers, and St. Louis Cardinals. He was very loving and always told his children how proud he was of them. Left to remember and cherish his memory are his children, Dane (Brenda) Wills and David Wills; his grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Brown, Allie (John) Koshak, Nicholas (Kayleen) Wills, Zack (Gina) Pappas, and Brock (Kayla) Pappas; his great-grandchildren, Easton, Emrey and Audrey Brown, Ailyn, Mason, and Maxus Pappas, Braxl and Louella Pappas and baby Norah Wills on the way; his sister-in-law, Virginia Abney; and his 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Dona Wills; his siblings, Shirley (Palmer) Dixon, Marion (Ted) Hickman, Margery (Cal) Lockwood, Mary Lu (Leon) Smith, and Murial (David Fullerton) Wills; his brother-in-law Don Abney and nephew Todd Abney.
