Donn Hollatz

Donn Hollatz, 65, of Garwin, died on the evening of Friday, March 11th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown after a valiant year-long fight with ALS. Memorial services celebrating Donns life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Harlin Nuss officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tama County Humane Society or the Garwin Public Library. Donn is survived by his loving wife, Tia, step-son James (Keiran) Bierly, step-grandson Landen Bierly, sister Sandra Accola and brother Dean (Kathleen) Hollatz as well as many nieces, nephews and his fur-babies, Emma and Katie. He enjoyed the outdoors, birds, camping, ATVs and was a true John Deere enthusiast. Most of all, he treasured his family. In death, he rejoined his parents.
