Donna Badger, 59, of Marshalltown, died Friday, July 25th, at her home while in the loving care of her family and the Iowa River Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Perry of the New Hope Christian Church officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday. A memorial fund is being established. Donna Mae, along with her twin brother, Donald Rae, were born on January 2, 1949, to Earl and Loretta Lubbert of Gladbrook, Iowa. Donna graduated from the Gladbrook High School in 1967 and soon moved to Des Moines to work for Bankers Life. On October 4th, 1969, she was united in marriage to Bill Badger in Omaha. Mrs. Badger was employed at Kresges and Marshalltown Manor before starting work at the Iowa Soldiers Home in 1972. She worked there until health caused her retirement in 2002. The following year, Bill passed away. Donna was active in the childrens ministry at New Hope teaching Sunday School and volunteered at Fisher Elementary. She enjoyed westerns and watching the Food Channel as she loved to cook. Left to mourn her loss are her daughters, Stacey and Sara of Marshalltown, twin brother Donald (Nancy) Lubbert of Gladbrook, sisters Dorothy Blocker (Jim Memmer) of Marshalltown, Sandy (Bill) Babinat of Clutier, Linda (Ed) Mills of Marshalltown, Mary Millard of Gladbrook, Diane Lubbert (Dean Lynch) of Dysart, Janice (Larry) Smith of Traer, brother Larry (Val) Lubbert of Marshalltown, her mother Loretta Lubbert of Gladbrook, several nieces, nephews, special aunts Betty Kollman of Phoenix, AZ and Margaret Lubbert of Des Moines, and her dog, Chase. In death she has rejoined her beloved Bill who died in 2003, her father Earl in 1976, special niece Melissa Babinat in 2002 and brother-in-law Rex Millard in 2006.
