Donna Bierman

August 17, 1937 — July 23, 2023

Donna Bierman, 85, of Marshalltown Iowa, passed peacefully into her Lord and Savior’s presence on July 23, 2023, while under the tender loving care of Grandview Heights Nursing Home and Hospice Compassus.

Donna was born August 17, 1937 in Buffalo Center Iowa. To John and Katherine (Breckunitch) Hartman. In Buffalo Center she received her education through the 9th grade. She worked for various families as a nanny before marrying Lawerence Bierman on March 25, 1960 in Buffalo Center.

God blessed them with two children; Tammy (Bierman) Hayes and Todd Bierman.

Her family was her forever love. Donna’s home in Marshalltown, was known to have a garage floor so clean, you could eat off of it. She did indeed know how to keep the cleanest house for miles around. Despite her love affair ending on May 5th, 2008, she fell forward into the goodness and grace of God that awaited her.

A cup of coffee and a conversation with a dearly beloved friend was priceless to her. She rarely knew a stranger, as her smile could disarm even the most hostile. Her joy was to make you feel like the only person in the world that mattered.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Tammy, son-in-law Jeff Hayes, and grandson Jacob Hayes. Her brothers, Gerry Hartman and wife Marlys of Ames, Iowa; David Hartman and wife Mary of Springfield Mo; sister Marilyn Hunt of Hampton Iowa; sister-in-law Debbie Hartman of Sheffield; and sister-in-law Lorriane Kalkwarf of Aplington Iowa along with many deeply beloved nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites have been executed and no public gathering will be held. Please take this opportunity to make a donation to a charity of your choice, and to share a sweet memory of Donna at www.mitchellfh.com or for any additional information please call 641-844-1234.
