Donna Holl, 84, of Conrad, died early Thursday morning, February 20th, at the Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook with family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 26th, 2014, at the New Hope Christian Church in Marshalltown with her grandson Michael Holl and Greg Witzenburg officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Vienna Cemetery near Beaman. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday February 25, 2014 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. For condolences, please visit; www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Donna Mae Lynch on April 12th, 1929, at Beaman, she was the daughter of Thomas Myron and Maude (Lepley) Lynch. She graduated from the Beaman High Schools Class of 1946, and attended the Central Iowa Business College in Marshalltown. On September 11th, 1948, she was united in marriage to George Ernest Holl at the Beaman United Methodist Church. They farmed in the rural Beaman/Conrad community where she attended Beaman Methodist Church and the Goodwill Club. Donna was a loving farmwife, mother and grandma who loved traveling the states with her beloved George (especially Arizona), cooking, reading the newspaper, keeping an eye on the farm activities, and watching birds and wildlife and will be remembered for her sense of humor. For years, Donna was faced with numerous physical challenges and met them with grace and lack of complaint. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy (Linda) Holl of Perry; Kevin (Deb) Holl of rural Conrad and Steven (Karen) Holl of rural Conrad, her grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Vogtlin of San Antonio, TX, Laurel Holl of Tucson, AZ, Jacqueline (Mike) Sharrow of San Antonio,TX, Matthew Holl of Waterloo, Erin (Ted) Sibley of Lees Summit, MO, Evan Black of Olathe, KS., Molly Holl of Marshalltown, Michael (Jaclyn) Holl of Molalla, ,OR, Ryan Holl of Des Moines and Garrett Holl (Stacy) of Des Moines as well as her precious great-grandchildren: Abby and Caleb Vogtlin, Elayna and Sophia Sharrow, Lucas, Benjamin and Samuel Sibley, Mikayla and Jack Holl with their sibling on the way, and Katherine Holl. Also surviving are her siblings: Virginia Zink of Grundy Center, Richard Lynch of Conrad, Robert Lynch of Longmont, CO., Lois Skramovsky of Beaman and Kent Lynch of Fairfield Bay, AR. as well as many nieces and nephews. In death, she rejoined her parents, her beloved husband in 2004 and sister, Mary Stephenson.
