Donna Mancillas, 77, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away in the early hours of the morning on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 in the comfort of her own home under the care of her husband Ray and Iowa River Hospice. At this time per Donna’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Donna’s name may be directed to her family for a later designation. Donna Jean Allison was born May 16, 1942 in Richland Center, Wisconsin to Thomas Allison and Agnes (Denman) Burns. She was raised by her stepfather, Lester Burns from the age of 4. She grew up around the Richland Center area until she was 14. Donna and her family moved to Belvedere, Illinois where she attended High School. Donna lived in Belvedere for a period of time before moving to Rochelle, Illinois. While working in Rochelle, Donna met her husband Raymond. The two were united in marriage on July 10, 1987 in Marshalltown, Iowa. The two began a combined family raising nine children together. Donna attended Marshalltown Community College where she studied nursing. She worked for Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown for 22 years until her retirement. During her nursing career, she received the nurse of the year award. She was privileged to care for her own family and take care of them for many years. In her free time, Donna enjoyed crafting whether crocheting or knitting or working on glassware. She was a gardener and canned foods, loved reading her Stephen King novels, an avid animal lover, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her husband Ray; her children Chris (Jim) Macklin, Cathy Dunston, Caryn Jacobson, Michael King, his children, JR( Julie) Mancillas, Rebecca (Paul) Westrich, Oliver (Tammy) Mancillas, Jewel Hoffard, and Jennifer Knight; her 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; her mother Agnes Burns; siblings Diana (Jodi) Allison, Deborah (John) Klemm, and Debbie Burns; numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Allison; stepfather Lester Burns; her siblings David Allison and Darlene Lundgren; eight grandchildren; her mother and father-in-law and three brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law.
