Donna Orr

Donna (Mrs. James) Orr, 68, of the Iowa Veterans Home, lifelong Marshalltown resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning of Tuesday, January 10th, at the IVH. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Memorials may be directed to her family. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born on April 7th, 1948, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Max and Margaret Mary (Schweinebart) Levis. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1966. On July 25th, 1974, at the Fellowship Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Orr. They made Marshalltown their home where she was employed at Stones Restaurant for over 25 years as a cook. Donna enjoyed her job, time with family, making ceramics for family and friends, animals, Christmas, playing bingo and the IVH trips to the casino. She was a member of the IVH Red Hat Society. Donna will be greatly missed by James, her loving husband of 42 years, her dad, Max Levis of Marshalltown and siblings: Lea Dean Levis in Arkansas, Sharon McMurray of Toledo and Bruce Levis of Marshalltown, as well as nieces, nephews and her IVH family. In death, Donna rejoined her mom, her sister-in-law Anita Levis, brother Max Trey Levis, Jr. and great-nephew, Keegan Daniel Levis.
