Dorcelle Mae Trowbridge, 83, of Marshalltown, passed away Sunday, March 29, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and donations may be sent to the family. For information or to send a condolence, please visit: www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Dorcelle Stanley was born on October 27, 1931 in Marshalltown to Ralph and Gladys Kelley Stanley. Dorcelle graduated from Marshalltown High School and later obtained her bachelors degree in nursing from Marshalltown Community College. In 1951 Dorcelle married Earl James Khile, who preceded her in death in 1968. On April 10, 1974, Dorcelle was united in marriage to Ted Trowbridge of Marshalltown. She was a registered nurse at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center, retiring in 1974. Dorcelle was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Red Hat Society and was a chairperson for the Christian Womens Club. She enjoyed reading, gardening, watching birds and spending time with her family. Dorcelle is survived by her husband of almost forty one years, Ted. Children: Deborah Martin of Dixon, Illinois, Peggy (Michael) McDaniel of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Nancy Bizios of Lewisville, Texas and James Khile of Yukon, Oklahoma, and step-daughters, Nancy (Rod) Rinderknecht of Crookston, Minnesota and Ann (Lorin) Petersen of Stanton, Iowa. Grandchildren: Andrew, Angela, Abigail, Aley, Katina, John, Tabitha, Cherie, Emily, Kimberly, Michael, Jeffery and Joel. Fourteen great-grandchildren. Siblings: Mary Jane (Johnny) Hitchings of Marshalltown and Ralph (Phyllis) Stanley of Marshalltown. Dorcelle is preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Gladys, first husband Earl Khile, siblings Elliott Stanley and Mildred Mayer, step-son David Trowbridge and son-in-law Edward Martin.
