Dorine Lampkin, 83, of State Center, died early Wednesday morning, November 24th, at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 29th, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in State Center with Pastor Joan Swander officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery at State Center. Visitation will be held from 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born Dorine Marie Meier on May 15th, 1927, in State Center, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Hilleman) Meier. She attended school in St. Anthony until the 3rd grade, moving to State Center. From grades 4th through 7th, she attended Central County schools and then returned to graduate from the State Center High School. On August 15th, 1948, she was united in marriage to Charles Lampkin in State Center. They made their home in State Center all of their married lives where she was employed at the State Center Creamery as an office manager for over 17 years and then as an assistant cashier at the Central State Savings Bank for 28 years, retiring in January of 1990.Dorine was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul WELCA, a charter member and held various offices for Delta Nu, State Center Historical Society, State Center American Legion Auxillary, State Center Senior Citizens and was choir director of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 54 years. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Irene Riemenschneider of State Center, nephews: Kevin (Dana) Meier of Woodbridge, VA, Curt (Carolyn) Meier of State Center, Kent (Brenda) Meier of Story City, Iowa, David (Pam) Riemenschneider of State Center, Michael Meier of Prescott, AZ., and nieces JoAnn Bogard of State Center and Teresa (Chad) Binnion of Tucson, AZ., her church family and many, many friends. In death, she rejoined her parents, brothers Roger and Robert Meier and her husband Charles in 1987.
