Doris Eddy

Doris Eddy passed away quietly on September 7, 2026 at the Iowa Veterans Home.

Doris Yvonne Eddy was born on November 26 th , 1935 to William John and Doris May Smith Laverty. After graduating from Laurel High School in 1953, she married Clyde Vernon Eddy on August 14, 1959. She served in the mailroom at Grinnell Mutual, but primarily she and her husband raised their family until his passing in September of 1998. 

She is survived by her son Bill Eddy (Sue) of Waterloo, daughter Sarah Eddy (Matt Kopsa) of Gilman, son Sam Eddy (Nicki) of Gilman, granddaughter Rachel Howard (Jayme), grandson Taylor Eddy (McKensie), Celeste Eddy, Dana Grovo (Brandi), great-granddaughter Alayna, great-grandson Isaac, great-grandaughter Juniper, sister Deborah Laverty (Jim Arges), and brother Dennis Laverty.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde and by granddaughter Ann Allstrom and her great- granddaughter Hailee.

The Eddy family will have a visitation from 9-11AM Saturday September 12 th at Laurel Community Church in Laurel. A funeral service will take place at Laurel Community Church at 11AM on Saturday September 12 th with burial to follow, and a luncheon at the church.
