Doris K Holubar

Doris Kathryn Holubar, 93, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Unity Point Health in Marshalltown.  Memorial services for Doris will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Doris and her family.  Doris Batesole was born on August 25, 1924 in Marshalltown to Howard and Gurene Batesole. On June 16, 1946, Doris was united in marriage to Max E. Holubar in Marshalltown. Doris had worked for Fisher Controls in the office doing clerical and bookkeeping work. She enjoyed baking; especially cupcakes and cookies and had an avid sweet tooth as well as watching Walker Texas Ranger, gardening, going polka dancing in Lincoln, Iowa and enjoyed the time her group of ladies would gather to socialize and play cards.  Doris is survived by her husband of 71 years, Max, children; Terry (Lisa Alberts) Holubar of Marshalltown, Barry (Ellen) Holubar of Chicago, Illinois and Mark (Connie) Holubar of Garland, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Madie (Jason)Gibson of San Diego California, Brandon, Matthew, Tanner and Dylan as well as great grandchildren; Jovann, Ezra and Ryder.  Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy (Jim) Shaw, parents Howard and Gurene and siblings Harold Batesole and Jeanne Ward.
