Doris Louise Randall, 82, of rural Gilman, died early Monday morning, April 30th, at Grandview Heights in Marshalltown. Her death came peacefully with family at her side. Memorial services and a celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 4th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Ph 844-1234.Born on October 5th, 1924, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Daniel Benjamin Edward and Anna Martha (Seglem) White. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School and the Iowa State Teachers College. On June 15th, 1947, in Marshalltown at the Elim Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Robert Randall. They have made their home near Gilman most of their married lives. Mrs. Randall was a teacher and substitute teacher in the Marshalltown area. Doris will be fondly remembered for her love of books, crossword puzzles, swimming, knitting, Norwegian cooking, baking, crafts, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, weaving, painting, pottery. She was a member of the UCC Church of Gilman, the Federated Womens Club, Frank Lewis Glick American Legion Post #839, and the Harry C. Harter Post #46.Left to mourn her loss are her loving husband of 59 years, Robert, her children: Steven (Ann) Randall, Mark (Linda) Randall, Mary (Marley) Davis and LeaAnn Randall, her grandchildren: Lisa (Tony) Nikkel, Darcy (Pete) Drury, Amy Davis, Kristin Randall and four step-grandchildren, great-grandson Mason Nikkel and nine step great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Josephine White and a host of friends.In death she has rejoined her parents and siblings: Edna Harlan, Amy Heng, Clarence White, and twin Hazel, Edward White, Herman White, Pearl Wilhelmi, Kathryn White, Robert White, Sr., and Dorothy Zewe.
