Doris Steward, 92, of Albion, Iowa, passed away on the afternoon of October 7, 2022 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown, Iowa and under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice.

Doris Katherine Elertsen was born near Grinnell, Iowa to parents Peter and Bertha (Hufford) Elertson on October 11, 1929. She attended school in Grinnell, Iowa and later graduated from Grinell High School.
Following high school, Doris was united in marriage to the love of her life Earl Steward on March 7, 1953. Together they began their lives and lived in both Marshalltown and Albion. Over the years they owned numerous horses and would attend rodeos. Doris worked for Marshalltown Trowel Works in their factory and retired after 42 years. Earl and Doris spent many years together and made countless memories together until his passing in 2017. In her free time, she loved to work on craft projects, crocheting, loved to have animals around the home, and traveling to Arizona in the winters.
Left to remember and cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews, Sharon (Linn) Knox, Steve (Midge) Steward, Judy Richards, Carolyn Wilson, Randy Tew, and Barb Anderson; alongside many great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Earl; her parents, Peter and Bertha Elertsen; her sister, Bonnie Tew; and her nephew that passed away in the line of duty in Vietnam.
