Mr. Dorman Brush, 57, of LeGrand, died suddenly on Saturday, September 20th, at the Eldorado Regional Healthcare Center in Eldorado, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 27th, at the LeGrand Friends Church with Pastor Alan Mullikin officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery north of LeGrand. Visitation will be held from 5-8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Born on November 19th, 1950, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Rex and Alenis (Van Wyk) Brush. He graduated from the LeGrand High Schools Class of 1969 and attended Iowa State University. On July 22, 2006, he was united in marriage to Diana Smith in LeGrand. He has always made his home in the LeGrand Community where he farmed and owned a trucking company as well as selling NK Seed for 30 plus years. He was previously married to Pamela Johnson for 27 years. Mr. Brush was an active member of the LeGrand Friends Church, had served on Stewardship Board with Iowa Yearly Meeting of Friends, and was a great supporter of the LeGrand community. He treasured his family and time spent with friends, was an Iowa State fan and enjoyed his lake home at Lake Ponderosa at Montezuma. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Diana, his children: Marti (Ted) Wojcik of Ankeny, Kori (Mark) Doty of Grinnell, Kristi (Daniel) Flanagan of Grinnell, Sky and Dalton Smith at home, his grandchildren: Preston and Travis Wojcik; Mason, Kailee, Kyle, Mallorie and Mashayla Doty; Ieland, Caden and Sadi Flanagan and one on the way, his sister Saundra (Darrel) Devick of Polk City, step-mother Bernice Brush of LeGrand, three nephews, two nieces and a host of close friends. In death he has rejoined his parents.
