Dorothea “Dot” L. Lindell, 54, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on the evening of Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown. Following Dorothea’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a celebration of life held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. There will be a public visitation held one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be directed in Dot’s name to her family. Dorothea Lorraine Lindell was born on November 29, 1964 in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Lauren and Lorraine (Tjarks) Peak. She was raised and educated in the Marshalltown School District, where she graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1983. On April 16, 1983, Dot was united in marriage to Michael Lindell in Marshalltown, Iowa. From this union two children were born: Vincent and William. The couple was also blessed to love and raise their foster daughter, Laurie. Dot was a one of a kind woman, with a heart that was always caring for others. If you needed to ever find Dot, good odd she was going to be at the softball diamonds helping keep score. Dot was a proud member of the Marshalltown’s Woman Bowling Association and the Central Iowa Coral Society. She had a true passion for bowling, playing darts, crocheting, spending time at the softball diamonds but most importantly was the time spent with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory is her family; Michael Lindell; two sons: Vincent and William Lindell; brothers: Cliff (Tina) Peak and Kenny (Teri) Peak; honorary sister: Melissa Eich; her special companion: Virgil Witt Jr.; several nieces and nephews as well as many Foster grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, both sets of grandparents and two aunts.
