Dorothy M. Clement, 87, of Marshalltown, formerly of Rhodes, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at the Villa del Sol while under their loving care. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Rhodes United Methodist Church with Pastor Brent DeSilva officiating. Burial will be in Eden Cemetery at Rhodes. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Dorothy Mae Walker was born on June 3, 1921, in LaPorte City, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Hattie (Harmon) Walker. Dorothy attended school at Rhodes. On September 25, 1936, Dorothy married Kenneth Clement in Ankeny, Iowa. The couple lived in Rhodes their entire married lives. Dorothy was a homemaker and caretaker of her husband and her family. She was an excellent cook and made the best pies in the world. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and sitting on her front porch and observing. Surviving are Dorothys daughter, Marvel (Bob) Ellis of Marshalltown; her son, Rick (Shirley) Clement of Marshalltown; her daughter-in-law, Lana Clement, of Rhodes; her 11 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her 2 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruby Richeson, of Rhodes; her brother-in-law, James Clement, of Colfax; and her sisters-in-law, Goldie Walker of State Center, and Rhoda Walker of Vinton.Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth, who died in 1993, her son, Danny Clement, her granddaughter, Angela Clement, her 10 brothers, and her 3 sisters.
