Dorothy Dottie Hoff, 91, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on July, 24th, 2015, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil and Rosary. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to volunteer services at the Iowa Veterans Home. Dorothy Johanna Wessing was born to Henry and Rose Wessing on September 28th, 1924, in Pilot Grove, Missouri. She was raised and educated at Clear Creek Missouri, eventually taking a job at the furniture store in Pilot Grove. She worked for the shoe factory in Boonville and later in life, at Marshalltown Instruments and a corn sorter for Ottlie RO Seed in Marshalltown, Iowa. On June 18th, 1946, Dottie and John Hoff were united in marriage in Clear Creek, Missouri, and the family made their home in Pilot Grove Missouri. In 1959, the family relocated to the Marshalltown area. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hat Society and St. Henrys Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, which she never had a pattern, bingo, ceramics, loved to cook for her family and was an amazing cook and always loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. Left to honor her memory are her children; Judy (Bob) Cummings of West Branson, Missouri, Scherry (Jim) Tichy of Marshalltown, Iowa, Vicki (Dan) Cruikshank of Marshalltown, Iowa, Shirley (Mark) Loney of Marshalltown, Iowa, her treasured grandchildren and their families; Shannon (Bill) Jambard and Taylor and Morgan, Stacy Bellinger, Kincaid and Olivia, Scott Cummings, Dr. Shane Tichy and Nathan, Shelly (Oscar) Posadas, Diego, Ariana, Tiffany (Mike) Mira, Adrianna and Anthony, T.J. Cruikshank, Jenna (Tim) Coleman and Chase, Jordan Loney, and Dorothys brother, Henry Wessing. In death, she rejoins her husband, John Hoff, her parents, Henry and Rose Wessing sisters, brothers; Lawrence, Francis, Minnie, Barney, Florence, Stella Frances Fat, and Cyril.
