Dorothy Elizabeth Lasson, 97, of Marshalltown, passed away at Grandview Heights on Sunday, August 3, 2014. Dorothy Elizabeth Smith was born on August 29, 1916, in Merrietta, Iowa, to parents, James Vern and Grace (Johnson) Smith. She was educated in Marshall County schools. Dorothy was employed by the Marshalltown Printing Company as a Printing Press Operator 21 years, retiring in 1977. Dorothy was still volunteering at the age of 91. She belonged to the Bird Club and attended craft classes. She loved to work in her yard, and tend to her roses. Dorothy loved to cook and was an impeccable homemaker. She enjoyed playing with her little dog, Winnie, and traveling. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Joyce McCrary.
