Dorothy Ann Scott

Dorothy Ann Scott, 95, of Ferguson, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 under the care of Unity Point Hospice.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish- St. Henry Church in Marshalltown at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. also at the church. Dorothy Ann Drew was born on May 9, 1930, at St. Thomas Hospital in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of Raymond and Lavina (Lawler) Drew. Dorothy started school in Zearing for four years then moved to Ferguson and graduated in 1948, then attended MCC. On August 8, 1950, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Scott. She was a member of St. Mary’s CCW and taught religious classes. Dorothy also served many years as a 4-H leader and 4-H county committee. She also was involved with home care and assisted in business sales. Dorothy and Bob took a lot of pride in their community and started a little league ballfield on their farm. Still today, that ball field is still being used for games. Memorials can be directed to the family for later designation.

Dorothy treasured her family who are also left to treasure her memories: son- David (Charisse) Scott of Marshalltown and daughter- Kathy (Van) Switzer of Conrad. Grandchildren: Michael (Paige) Scott, Heather (Eric) Peterson, Kay Switzer and Ted (Emma) Switzer. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren with one on the way and sister-in-law: Bev Drew.

In death, she rejoins her parents; brothers: Raymond Jr. and Donald along with her husband: Bob Scott.
