Dorothy Marie (Slifer) Hazen

Dorothy Slifer was born on August 2, 1928, in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of Harry and Marie Slifer. On August 18, 1945, Dorothy was united in marriage to Harlan Hazen in Atchison, Kansas. Dorothy was a homemaker and mother to four children. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crafts, was a fantastic cook and had a “zest for life”. She was also a member of the Loretta Lynn fan club.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Larry Hazen of Lakeview, Arkansas and Sharon (John) Blunk of Halfway, Missouri. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband: Harlan; children: Steve and Kenneth, and parents: Harry and Marie.
