Doug graduated from Marshalltown High School with the Class of 1981. He was employed by Poured Foundations for many years and most recently the Times Republican. He was a collector of sorts specializing in what most people call “Junk”. He enjoyed his trips to Doo Dah’s Dinner where he had his very own booth. Doug was an avid outdoors man, he was fond of fishing and driving around the country side looking for wildlife if his music wasn’t too loud. The love of nature carried over to his everyday life, he enjoyed a good bonfire and splitting wood to stoke the fire even bigger. He loved speading time with his family at the campfires telling stories and listening to Meatloaf. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Diane Dewey, Aunt Vanita Dewey, Mike (Jill) Dewey, adopted sister Sharon Propst, goddaughter Danielle Propst, Rocky and Lissa Monk, and Jeff Smith. He is proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers in infancy, and his grandparents.
