Douglas 'Doug' Weitzell

Douglas Weitzell, 56, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown. Funeral services for Doug will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Dougs family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Doug and his family. Douglas Weitzell was born on May 10, 1959 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Gary and Geri (Grabenbauer) Weitzell. He was raised and educated in the Marshall County school district, graduating from Marshalltown High School. Following high school, Doug honorably served his country in the United States Army from March 1979 to March 1985. Doug was united in marriage to Casey Marie Boone on December 15, 1985 in Marshalltown Iowa. From this union two sons were born: Cody and Tyler. Doug was a hardworking man being employed with Midwest Manufacturing, Scotts Manufacturing and most recently Interface Sealing Solutions. He had a passion for racing, golfing, fishing, camping, football especially the Green Bay Packers but most of all his family. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Gary and Geri; two sons: Cody (April) Weitzell and Tyler Weitzell; grandson: Wyatt Weitzell; sister: Deb (Mark) Warmbier; brother: Dave Weitzell and nieces: Samantha, Alyssa, Carrie and Brittney. He is preceded in death by his wife, Casey and Grandparents.
