Drake Lagunas

This is Drake, he became part of our small new family of a recently married couple with his new doggie sister Pepper in 2024. He came to us as a 3month St. Bernard puppy. He was full of energy, loved to eat and was a chunky baby. He continued to grow and grow and soon was bigger than his 5’2 human mom. He loved to jump on any human thinking he was a tiny light weighted doggie and sit on peoples lap. He gave the most sloppiest kisses and was a big cry baby. He was so sweet and a great listener. He was also a protector and would pull out his big barks to any stranger and would quickly turn into a baby when he saw that the strangers meant no harm. His favorite activities were car rides with mom to get burgers, pestering his dog sister and watch movies on the couch. He turned 1yr old May 1st of 2025 and after a few days, he was starting to behave strangely. We took him to the vet and was given some medication for his slight fever. He was feeling better and acting like himself again. A week later, things started to go downhill very fast. I don’t think I can share the details after that because that’s not how I want Drake to be remembered. On May 31st 2025, I took him to the vet to see if we can get him examined for further testing. Right at 12pm, Drake took his last breath. I made the biggest decision of my life that I no longer wanted Drake to suffer. What was only going to be a vet visit turned into coming back to town with no dog. In the last few hours of Drakes life on earth, he was so loved. He took all his strength to get in my truck because he loved car rides. He used all his last strengths looking out the window and cuddling with his blanket. He was loved DEARLY by his humans, his dog sitters and family and friends.
