Duane Bartlett

Duane Edward Bartlett, 76, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday morning, November 12, 2023 at his home.

Duane Bartlett was born on November 8, 1947 in Marshalltown. He was the son to Alva and Viola (Slifer) Bartlett. After Duane graduated from Marshalltown High School, he attended Iowa State University and received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Duane was united in marriage to Beverly Troutner in February of 1970. Duane had previously worked for the State of Iowa Highway Commission. He had also worked for Cessford, Roland Snelling and Mulder Brothers in California. Duane was also the President and owner of a construction company. Duane enjoyed doing “hands-on” work. He was very handy around the home and also was in charge of several rental properties.

Duane is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bev; son: Kurt (Lisa) Bartlett of Illinois; granddaughter: Breanna; siblings: Lorrie Bartlett of Fort Dodge, Kendra (James) Happe of Laurel and Kristle Barker of Des Moines. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents: Alva and Viola.
