Dwayne Lyle Pundt

Dwayne Lyle Pundt, age 90 of State Center, Iowa passed away on November 24, 2023, at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare.

Funeral services for Dwayne will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 7 P.M. with Pastor Robert Ricard officiating. A visitation for family and friends is also scheduled on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Dwayne Pundt was born on April 03, 1933, at his home in Iowa Falls. He was the son of Herbert and Eva (Strauser) Pundt. Dwayne attended high school in Iowa Falls and graduated with his class of 1951. On July 6, 1952, Dwayne married the love of his life Janet Arlene (Roeske) Pundt at the Berlin Church near Owasa. He later went on to serve his country in the United States Army for a couple of years. After his service, Dwayne came back home and worked several jobs. He had a bread route for Strands Bakery of Marshalltown, and he also had a Pepsi route in Cedar Falls. Later in 1965 both Janet and Dwayne purchased the D & J, Jack and Jill Grocery Store in State Center, Iowa. They both operated the grocery store for 35 years till their retirement. Dwayne enjoyed collecting anything from tools, fire trucks, tractors, Coca Cola memorabilia, and attending auctions. One of his passions was the Christmas holiday which he and his wife would start to decorate for in early September. The majority of his life was dedicated to his work and his various collections.

Dwayne is survived by his daughter Vicki (James) Vellinga of State Center and his son Rick (Lisa) Pundt of Johnston, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, and his sister Aileen (David) McKinney.

Preceded in death by his wife Janet, both his parents and his daughter Pamela Pundt.
