Edith Marie Ellison

Edith Nanny Ellison, 72, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with her loving family by her side. Following cremation, a public graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington, Illinois, with Rev. Terry Strom officating. Edith Marie Tosh was born on September 13, 1942, in LeRoy, Illinois, the daughter of George and Ethel (Phillips) Tosh. She was raised and educated in the LeRoy, Illinois School District. Edith met the love of her life Dennis and they were later married on August 28, 1961, in Bloomington, Illinois. Following their marriage they made their home in Champaign, Illinois for several years before moving to Bloomington, Illinois. Their family later settled in Marshalltown, Iowa, in 1974. Edith had a passion for flowers, gardening, quilting and sewing, crocheting, and especially her cats. Most of all she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and will be dearly missed. Left to cherish Ediths memory are her children: Thereasa Ellison of Marshalltown, Iowa, Sherri Ann (Kris) Kubosumi of Whitten, Iowa, Cynthia (Peter) Perrine of Wheaton, Illinois, Dennis Guy (Jennifer) Ellison Jr., of Morton, Illinois; his loving grandchildren: Candace, Chasity, Robert, Tyler, Mariah, Honor, David, Paul, William and Katherine; her thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert Tosh, Ronald Tosh, Harold Tosh, William Tosh, Charles Tosh and David Tosh. Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband: Dennis Guy Ellison Sr.; parents: George and Ethel Tosh; two brothers: Richard and Larry Tosh; and one granddaughter: Sarah.
