Edward E. Blink

Edward E. Blink, 62, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, June 14th. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Fr. Jim Miller of St. Marys Catholic Church officiating. Inurnment will be in the Riverside Cemetery Mausoleum niche. Born Edward Everett Blink on July 26th, 1945, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Oetker) Blink. He graduated from St. Marys High School in Marshalltown and served in the United States Army reserves. On June 12th, 1965, he was united in marriage to Lynne Petit Hildreth at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. They resided in Marshalltown all of their married lives where he was employed at Fisher Controls until retiring in October of 2004. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Ed enjoyed stockcar racing. Left to cherish his memory are his three children: Jodi Corns, Jill Blink and Michael (Genell) Blink, grandchildren: Jessica Corns, Jonathon Schroyer, Garett Blink, Piper Blink and Karstyn Blink, parents Ed and Elizabeth Blink, his siblings: John (Jane) Blink, Laura (Ben) Thompkins, Nancy (Mark) Richter and Roger (Kim) Blink as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his grandparents and great-nephew, Ben Thompkins, Jr.
