Edwin Walter Wignall, went to heaven on September 14th, 2015. Visitation will be held at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17th, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 18th, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown at 10:30 am. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Edwin Walter Wignall, son of Walter and Hilda Wignall, was born on April 28th, 1931, in Dillon, Iowa, where he grew up. He later moved to LeGrand, Iowa, where he attended high school graduating in 1949. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 8th Field Artillery, 25th Division, during the Korean War. He was a self-employed truck driver and was married to his wife of 50 years, Mary Lu (Hastie) Wignall. Edwin enjoyed camping and fishing in Clear Lake, Iowa with his family and spending time with his grandchildren He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, Iowa, where he served as Director of Church Property. He is survived by his wife; Mary Lu (Hastie) Wignall, Sons; Tim (Lori) Wignall of State Center, Iowa, David (Suzanne) Wignall of Marshalltown, Iowa, and 5 grandchildren; Alisha, Maddison, Shane, Alexa and Zoey as well as one sister; Eileen (Mike) Stanley, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Edwin is preceded in death by his parents; Hilda and Walter Wignall.
