Elaine Sinclair, 85, of Ferguson, died in the peace at her home on Monday, April 18, 2011.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Phone: (641)844-1234.Born Elaine Funke on February 8, 1926, in Marshall County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alfred and Emma (Kruzman) Funke. She graduated from the State Center High School.On July 5, 1937, she was united in marriage to J.D. Sinclair in Milan, Missouri. They made their home in Marietta, Marshalltown and for 58 plus years at the house they built in Ferguson. J.D. passed away in 1988.Mrs. Sinclair was most recently employed at Burger King for 12 years until retirement. She previously was employed at Marshalltown Manufacturing for 25 years, Dunham-Bush for 12 years and began her working career at her first job- Cliftons Grocery on North Center Street. Elaine was a member of the UAW and Moose Lodge. She enjoyed sporting events- especially those of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and J.D. enjoyed camping and fishing, traveling and ballgames. She treasured her family and loved bingo!Left to cherish her memory are her children: Mike (Jaci) Sinclair of rural Marshalltown, Sherry (Dale) McKenna of Gilman, Sandy (the late Ross) Boyer of Marshalltown and Dennis (Tina) Sinclair of Springdale, Arkansas, 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, her sister Edith Lapour of Marshalltown, brothers Ronnie Funke of Waterloo and Bob Funke of Marshalltown, sister-in-laws Marjorie Funke of Clemons and Florence Funke of State Center, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In death, she rejoined her parents, her beloved husband J.D., son-in-law Ross Boyer, grandson Nathan, brothers Harold, Laverne and Gene and sisters Doris Funke and Beatrice Lapour.
