Eldon Veld, Jr.

Eldon “Eldie” Veld, Jr., 59, of Union, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, October 8, 2019, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames with his family by his side. There will be a Memorial Service held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until service time. A memorial fund is being established. Eldon was born on December 9, 1959 to Eldon, Sr. and Genevieve (Larson) Veld. He grew up in Eldora and graduated from the Eldora High School. He had worked as a vocational instructor for small engines at the Eldora Training School for 33 years. Eldie loved riding his motorcycle and mowing lawns. He was a very avid “people person.” Most of all, he loved and enjoyed his family. Surviving is his wife, Connie; his daughter, Morgan (Chase Ayers) Veld; his son, Dustin Veld; his grandson, Benjamin Veld; two sisters, Kay (Randy) Davidson and Trudie (Jim) Wood. In eternal life, Eldie is reunited with his parents and niece, Megan Davidson.
