Eleanor Faye Buck, 78, of rural Melbourne, died Saturday, May 10th, along with her Golden Retriever, Rusty, after a lengthy illness. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the service time. Born Eleanor Faye Ayers on October 3rd, 1929, in Mason City, Iowa, she was the daughter of Robert and Bessie Gail (Kennison) Ayers. She graduated from State Center High School in 1947.On January 25th, 1947, in Atchison, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Wayne Marvin Buck. They made their home near Melbourne where they farmed. Mrs. Buck enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, painting, bird watching, pottery, macram and treasured her family. She also loved the companionship of her dog, Rusty. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jackie (Bob) Wright of Longmont, Colorado, Jeffrey (Anne) Buck of State Center, Jeanne (Chris) Coburn of Waterloo and Julie Buck and her partner Pat Cunningham of Iowa Falls, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In death she has rejoined Wayne, her beloved husband of 53 years, son Jim who died in 1976 and sister, Dorothy White.
