Born Eleanor Marie Dobson on July 1st, 1915, in Marshalltown, at the family home, she was the daughter of Henry L. and Nannie (Stehn) Dobson. She graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1933 (as the first of three MHS graduating generations). On October 9th, 1938, she was united in marriage to Roy William Harvey at her parents home in Marshalltown. The couple made Marshalltown their home where they raised their family of four children. The Harvey family were faithful members of the 1st Church of the Nazarene. Her faith was strong in her life as was the gift of hospitality. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others (especially her chocolate chip cookies and renowned potato salad), teaching Sunday school, gardening, embroidery work, babysitting well into her 80s and made a STRONG cup of coffee! She will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Judy Harvey of Bloomington, MN, Sue Dunham of Nevada, Iowa, Vaughn Harvey of Fairmont, West Virginia and Faith Dorn of Des Moines; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren who called her more grandma and twin baby boys to be born in December, her church family, Grandview Heights family and many others. In Heaven, she rejoined her beloved Roy, her parents, daughter Rebecca, brother Sterling S. Dobson, son-in-law Dr. Ron Dunham and granddaughter Carmen Harvey.
