Eleanor M. Robb, 85, passed away July 30, 2015 with her family at her side at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Services will be held on Wednesday, August 5 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown and the family will be greeting friends at the visitation on Tuesday, August 4 from 5-7 p.m., also at the funeral home. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Eleanor and her family. Eleanor was born near Conrad on December 10, 1929, to Floyd and Lois (Starr) Bartholomew. She attended school at Conrad graduating with the Class of 1948. Eleanor attended Evangelical Deaconess School of Nursing and graduated in 1951. On May 27, 1951 she married Gene Robb in Marshalltown. Eleanor enjoyed her nursing career, needlework, reading genealogy, camping, (especially the Labor Day family campouts and on the Big River.) She belonged to the DAR, St. Marys Altar & Rosary, and Evangelical Nurses Alumni. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gene; six children: Pat (the late Rollie) Luethje, Nancy (Dennis) Zitzow, of Marshalltown, Sandra Robb of Williams, Iowa, Phil Robb of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Mary (Jeff Lippincott) Robb and Jennifer Robb of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Chris (Sandra) Robb of Lyles, Tennessee, Sarah (Clyde) Kennedy of Bon Aqua, Tennessee, Kim (Mike) Haley of Marshalltown, Jill (Ken) Ziemke of Marshalltown, Matt Robb of Williams, Iowa, Joe Robb of Roland, Iowa, Jesse Hoeft of Klemme, Iowa, McKenzie Robb of Washington State; and great grandchildren, Emily, Hailey, Carter, Drake, Josie and Kayden; her sister, Mavis Nelson of Gladbrook; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ernest, and son-in-law, Rollie Luethje.
