Elizabeth (Oetker) Blink, 91, of Marshalltown, passed away peacefully at Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center on November 4, 2014. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Henrys Catholic Church with Father Don Czapla officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Vigil. Elizabeth will be laid to rest in the Riverside Columbarium at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Elizabeth Oetker was born in Haverhill, Iowa, on March 20, 1923, to parents, George and Hildagard (Hoffman) Oetker. She attended school in Haverhill through the 8th grade, and graduated in 1942, from Van Cleve High School. On May 2, 1944, Elizabeth married Edward Blink at the Haverhill Immaculate Conception Church. To this union, five children were born: Edward, Laura, Roger, John, and Nancy. Elizabeth worked at Marshalltown Manufacturing and was a member of C.C.W. She enjoyed canning and reading, but especially loved spending time with her family. Left to cherish Elizabeths memory is husband: Edward Blink; her children: Laura (Benham) Tompkins, Roger (Renae) Blink, John (Jane) Blink, and Nancy Richter; grandchildren: Christine (Shane) Brand, Melissa (Ray) Williams, Bobbie (Wayne) Penton, John, Joe, and Rachel Blink, Shawn (Patience) Blink, Chad (Shawna) Blink, Mike Blink, Jodi Fricke, and Jill (Roy) Schweinebart; siblings: Earl (Irene) Oetker, Bill (Pat) Oetker, George (Rita) Oetker and Irene Erwin. Elizabeth is joined in death by her parents; brothers: Robert Oetker, Jim Oetker, and Harold Oetker; sister, Marie Barber; son, Edward Blink; and grandson, Benham Tompkins, Jr.
